The 56s were all SGC 88s purchased within the last year with the idea I would try to crack them and cross them to my set registry. I sent the Mays in with my CC freebies last year and it came back a 6. I was hoping for a PSA 8. Well I guess it's a 6.
I tried the "Wait Until You Open The Box From PSA To See Your Grades" method. Never again. I was okay until I saw that my order had shipped, then I was like Jeff Conaway on Celebrity Rehab. I went from euphoric highs when I was charming and personable (sure that I was looking at 8.5s or 9s) to the lowest of lows when i was a sub-human ogre (sure that I was going to get all EOTs).
Maybe I'm a little disappointed as only one of the SGCs crossed to an 8, but chances are those three 7.5s could be 8s tomorrow. But I'm just going to put them in my registry and move on.

Realize it's too late now, but for cards like those
I would try to cross them in their holders first asking for a minimum grade of PSA 8.
Then I'd crack out and submit raw the ones that didn't cross.
An extra grading fee, but could end up being well worth it.
