I saw on the Heritage site that there 20 days left to consign to a March Signature auction. I know ittakes time to get stuff received, photo-ed, cataloged, etc. but in this economy I'd have a hard time giving up control over my coins when things could change rapidly for the worse. I'd at least wait till after FUN or if I had to sell maybe eBay where one can end the listing at any time.
...the auction house gave me a guarantee, in writing, that they will buy the coins that do not sell for the reserve or higher... and will pay the reserve...
...yeah yeah... of course no auction house would do this... so I guess I will not be doing any consigning in the near future... or if I do, I just will not be "comfy" with it...
Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free
(I think this is going to be my standard answer to just about everything for now on.) >>
With coins, most of the time it's the right answer. >>
Perhaps... but it depends...
