Circ finds and stupid ?'s

Seems I never get a response when I post a thread. ?'s must not be worth answering to you guys but I've just started to get interested in coins and know nothing so I have a few questions. I'm not really into collecting graded 69 or 70 coins I just like the different stuff like errors and such and I enjoy searching coins to find them.I want to start off with some coins I found in the last box of Nickels and Quarters I searched from my local bank to see if they are true errors, post mint damage or nothing at all. Pics aren't the best as I have a junk cam and a lot of the pics had to be taken through a loupe lol. Here they are:
22 Peace dollar looks like the last to letters of Trust are very faint, Is this a weak stuck coin? Is it worth anything over the silver content?

The letters I & N in "In God We Trust" seem to be connected.

The 5 on this Jeff apears filled in although it doesn't seem so in the pic, it does in hand:

"Five Cents" Apears very faint, weak strike?

What's this about?

or this:

DD's or RPM's? I found a lot of 99P Jeffs like this where the P and sometimes the 1999 apeared to be doubled:

Off center? 99 p&d:

The MM on this Jeff looks very stange in hand as if it was RPM or DD but couldn't get a good pic:

I found tons of jeffs where the MM were filled it, why is that?

This Jeff is all jacked up. Some of the letters are very weak or non existant, Lots of stange marks on front and back and the edge apears as if it has a split down the center halfway around the coin and its also wavy like:

Weakly struck areas on a coin can be caused by mis-alignment of the dies or a foreign object such as grease in the die. It it quite common for some parts to be weakly struck.

Also, die wear can cause weak areas on coins.

You have quite a selection of questions . . . some appear to be routine machine doubling (no premium) and others to be some die clash, but there are so many examples I think many here will get overwhelmed.

Most here will be happy to respond if they have an opinion or expertise. Give them time, post one or two at a time, and have fun with the responses. You take good pix and will get responses . . trust me.

  • I agree with what the above reply says. Most of what you thought was a weak strike could probably be better attributed to great filled dies.

And did you find the Peace $1 in a box of nickels or quarters? image

No expert here. I just wanted to say you have a great approach to collecting. I imagine many here on the board started with fishing through pocket change and the addiction started there. Excellent idea not wanting to go the high grade route, thats a hard habit to kick.image

of course not, I forget where I did pick it up however. BTW, would these be called Varieties or what is a Variety?
    Its all relative
  • I'm no expert, but think I see some cuds there from broken dies - nice finds!
Have bought and sold on BST, many references available when asked.
