Adams double edge lettering errors, prices going up

I havn't been following ebay much in the last few months, but I just did a completed listing search of "adams double" and it looks like adams double lettering edges are selling over $100 now and a few months ago prices above $100 were rare and now they are the norm. I havn't read any coin magazines lately and I was wondering if anyone has seen any articles about these double lettering edges which might explain the sharp increase in prices? I know the Mint is revising the edges next year, but i can't believe this would cause prices to be up significantly. I'm a big fan of these coins and hopefully they will continue to get their due since I believe it is the neatest and most significant error to ever come out of the Mint.
