Does anyone know if plasic pages are recyclable?

Back in the early 80's, I received a 1976 Topps factory set for a Christmas present. Awesome present! I put all of the cards into the old side load pages and am just now getting around to replacing them with new top load pages. So now I'm wondering if I just have to throw away all of these old pages, or are they recyclable? They don't have a recycle symbol on them, but that probably did not exist at the time I got them. Thanks.

I'm sure they were not archival safe back then and contained pvc. Did the pages yellow with age and the cards yellow from being in the pages for so long?

No, not even a hint of yellow on the pages or cards. They have been kept inside with good climate control and no direct sunlight though. If they have PVC in them would that make them non-recyclable?
  • A bit off topic but what are the prefered pages these days? I just bought a couple 80's sets on Ebay and want to display them in albums. Also, will a 3 inch D-Ring be big enough to hold a 792 card Topps set?

Yes, BUT you will have to put some heavy books on top of the stack of pages (88 to be exact) to squeeze the air out of the pages so they will fit. As for where to get the pages, you can get them from Matt's Baseball Cards; I always get them and the binders (both BCW) by the case and you won't find a cheaper price than there.

I have to admit that a few of my damaged out of the pack cards have hit the recycle bin.
