I apologize. I can't get my computer to copy and paste for some reason. Anyone know where I can dig into my computer to allow copy and paste?

These were also the original coins for the sixpence in her shoe. When a man proposed to a lady then he would give her a sixpence as a token of his affection, if she bent it and cast it off - she did not want to marry him. So bent coins might have a sad tale to tell.
My then fiance got a 1562 milled tanner when I proposed to her, and she kept it in her shoe when we were married. She still has it, all these years later.
<< <i>The tanners from that era were thin, but broad coins so they were also called benders as they did bend easily.
