Anybody watch a sporting event from a luxury viewing box?

If so what were your impressions of the food, service, the view of the game itself etc?

My sons have watched a few games from Bobby Bowden's box at FSU. They thought it was great-and they have been going to college games for 20+ years. I have a cousin who sat in the owner's box at an Eagle's game. What a waste, he doesn't even like football but went because the mayor invited him.
  • I sat in one at Raymond James Stadium during a USF game because one of my brother in law's professors invited us. Great food, great view and it helped get away from the humid September weather.

I've never been to a baseball game in a luxury box, but I used to get passes every year to see NHRA and Nascar races in their VIP tower or box suites. If you can get them or afford them, I would do it at least once. Nothing like watching a venue with a great view and sitting next to famous people. I'm not saying you will see someone famous, but I used to at the races.

reminds me of the Miller Lite commercial image

(which I agree with -- sports are to be watched and shared with thousands of others huddled together in cramped seating while you are looking around a steel beam...wait, that's Fenway)

I sat in one of the Cleveland Indians loges. Friend of mine worked for an engineering company that did some of the designs for Jacobs..OOPS PRogressive Field. Food was better than what you got sitting in box or other seats in my opinion....and it was free. They also wheeled in a dessert cart later in the game and it was awesome...all the sweets one could want..

I was an usher ( a few years ago ) for the Orioles. I had numerous assignments including the President, Queen Elizabeth , Ted Williams, Tip O'Niel , the Mayor of Baltimore , etc.... Most were horrible tippers.

The highlight of all those trips , to that box , was making an incredible hanging out of the box, catch of a foul ball. I got a huge ovation.

My son had a friend who was on the O's ground crew one summer. He visited for a weekend and got to go down to the field, and was close to the players. He was surprised at how big they were. I do not remember the year, but Javy Lopez was with the Os.
  • I watched a Blue Jackets/Red Wings game from the Nationwide suite at Nationwide Arena. They had a wide variety of good food and an even better selection of domestic and import beer (heavily stocked in Canadian beer for some reason image). So, I can't complain.

forgot to mention in my previous message, I also saw a game from the hotel in Toronto. Blue Jays against Indians, awesome game and a great place to watch a game if you can get one of the hotel rooms facing the ball diamond.
  • Lambeau Field luxury boxes are outstanding. Great view of the field. Food is good, plenty of refreshments.
  • I watched a MN Timberwolves game from on of the corporate suites. Nothing remarkable about the view, the food was great but ultra-pricey. The best part about it was that the suites also came with 2 courtside seats so I got to watch a quarter of the game in a folding chair about 10? feet from underneath one of the baskets. That was super cool and probably something I'll never get to experience again.
