Counterstamped Large Cent

I found a counterstamped 1852 large cent in a box of "stuff" of mine. I don't have a pic but this is the name on it.

its the mark of M. Chatfield of Bloomington, Illinois

Rulau gives the following info:

"Milo Chatfield is listed as a wholesale grocer and tobacco dealer in the 1853 and 1855 directories........"

".......was elected alderman 1855, and became street commissioner 1870. In 1873 he was a carpenter; in 1880 a mail carrier. Disappears ffrom directory in 1886."

it's also worth noting that all recorded pieces that i can trace are on silver (Mexican 2 Reales/US quarters/US Half Doll.) making yours unique in that it is on a copper coin
