Searching Hawaii Mint Bags

Well, it is very snowy where I am currently and I happened to have some 25 dollar bank bags. One Denver, and one Philadelphia. When I opened up the Philadelphia today I noticed many of the coins were covered in what looked like oil grease. There seemed to me to be more hits and scratches on the P's than D's.
Will the coins with grease spots be ungradable/authentic if sent to PCGS?

I wanted to mention that I found 4 in the P bag that had a die break in the upper loop of the 8 in 2008 on the reverse. It's a bump that almost raises the upper loop in 8.

I think I might retire before I get started in this mint bag searching business. Any suggestions for staying sane?

    Welcome to the boards!

Don't know the anwsers, but hope you find something cool and post a photo. I like the AK and HI State Quarters the best of the 50.

  • Why would you send a coin to PCGS that any person can get in change or at least at the bank?

I would send a coin with a really nice strike and minimal marks or bumps, hoping that it would grade very high.

You should do some searching on here about "mint bags" and "searching bags" etc.
I know I just asked a similar question recently and one member here, Clackamas,
gave his tips on searching mint bags. Good luck!
