A crusty Rhineland Liberation

I bought this one this week from a board member, still hasn't arrived so these are the sellers pics. A 1930 J 3 Mark ( a slightly better mint with a mintage of 261,000) , it's only an NGC62 but I really like the look.

I'm really developing a taste for the German pieces, although no more spending until after the Heritage NYC sale in January, got to save coins to bid. They have some lucious British Pennies in the sale.

Very nice pickup! A set of Weimar commemoratives with character like this could be doable (but challenging!).
  • You do not want to collect German coins at all... Stay far away until I am done with my set, then I will sell you lots of duplicate and overgraded problem coins I have managed to acquire over the years image

I posted this medal with a similar theme, a while back. The photo was taken with my old Nikon 4300, so the detail is not as fine as some of my more recent posts.

I have a set up now in proof here These are the proofs and I have the Marburg in NGC PR67CAM (tried to cross and it didn't make it). I have never seen the Dürer in matte proof and there are done in the pop reports at PCGS. There is one in the NGC pop reports at PR64, but no one that I know has seen it. CoinArchies doesn't list any except one in a CNG sale (2003) was listed as Unc. with matte fields. My German dealers have never seen one either, but they believe that they might exist and Ron Guth thinks so also. This is going to make finishing this set very hard. Btw, I have the set complete in Unc., but many are in NGC plastic. 3Mark

Very nice set 3mark, you need to put some pics up. I'll take all those nasty NGC holdered coins off your hands for a good price. image
