January Specials: Sagen, nein danke vor Krieg.

I had hoped that January specials would be a little kinder on the wallet, and for 1956 cards and beyond, it certainly will be. The pre-war stuff, however, won't get much love this time around and that's too bad. I've been sitting on a dozen raw '15 Cracker Jacks (all commons), but by taking advantage of the "special" $14 price, I'd be out more than $180.00 for 12 cards. Ouch! Deine Art zu, aber nicht dank.

    I took a German class earlier in the year, and I'm always looking to practice.


    Sagen, nein danke vor Krieg. = Saying No Thanks to pre-war.

    Deine Art zu, aber nicht dank. = You're too kind, but no thanks.

    Auf Wiedersehen = Goodbye

    Wienerschnitzel, kindergarten and volkswagon round out the limits of my German lexicon. I really should've showed up to class a bit more!

    Papa gerne Outfit (Daddy likes the outfit). In German, I think that getup is pronounced "kepenfromfloppen" or "holdenzaheinie"
