    As crazy as he was in his playing days, I liked the guy. He could be tough as nails but at other times he was so wild. I guess we found out after he retired that drugs had a lot to do with it!

    Doc had a ton of talent and intellect . The culture he grew up in, which included alot of drugs, was the primary reason his mindset and work ethic was the way it was. Started with Bob Gibson stuff without the fire or focus.
