My Humble Gorgon Medusa Collection...

Hey guys, some of you might know me as one of the Lincoln Cent nuts, but recently (a few months ago) I got an interest in Ancients. I started with Roman Coins, (I am doing a set of Fel Temps, and just a plain set of Roman coins depicting a Phoenix), and about a month or so ago I got an interest in Gorgon Medusa coinage (thanks to stainless. image) I just want to show you guys my set so far. Please let me know what you think of it! Here are the two coins, lol. Thanks for looking!!

  • I've never seen the bull reverse, that one is cool! I was wondering who picked up the one Stainless had. I was too slow to the gun, again.image
  • Thanks man, I appreciate the reply. image There doesn't appear to be too much interest in the Gorgona Medusa Coinage?

I'd bet that with the large quantity of fakes released back in 1988(?) that it turned off a lot of potential buyers.

Hey, those are neat. Good to see you here.

What is it about the Gorgon/Medusa coins that speak to you and Anthony ("Stainless") so much? I mean, they're cool, but why that specific type? I know he wanted one for a long time, and finally got one.

Still have that Roman denarius you got from me? What was it, Julia Maesa? That toned one I got from Aethelred, I think.

Gorgeous example!! I'll post them in a little bit, but my example of that type isn't as nice as yours, lol. (I only have two)

Thanks man. IDK really to be honest, I just like the designs on some of them, and they catch my eye. They are kool, and my goal is to try to do a set of these (as long as budget permits of course. image)

Yep, I still have it. I'm trying to sell it however though (not because I don't like it, but because I'd like to use the money for other things).
