Mickey Mantle Card need opinions ???

Good day,
What do you all think, it looks like a nice card, is this person dumb and leaving money on the table or is it trimmed? Or something else I'm missing, besides the CSA crap which is irrelavant, this looks like it could go easy NM-MT 8 or maybe even NM-MT 8.5.

Auction # 250342302827

IF it's not tampered with, why is it in that holder?

I noticed it does not fill the holder.

Besides that If the card was 100% legit I'm sure it would be in a respectable holder by now.

    Neil,

Card looks awesome! Only thing that MAY be bad is on the back, it looks like the left border might be a little short? Not saying it is, but if I had to list SOMETHING to make a person cautious, that is what I would say.

Seems like too good of a price ... even if it crossed over to a PSA "8", you would still make a few bucks. If it crossed to a PSA "9", then you hit a HOME RUN!!!!!! Didn't look at this person's feedback, but if they have been selling high cost PSA cards in the past, why the hell isn't this one in a PSA holder by now?

    CSA 9 MANTLE

    CSA 9 JERRY RICE RC

    CSA 10 JERRY RICE RC

    CSA 10 JOE MONTANA RC

    Neil,

Like Dizzle mentioned above, the slight gap between the card and the CSA holder on the right side doesn't look right.

I've noticed that a few other CSA cards, all regular sized 2.5" x 3.5", seem to fit differently in the holder.

I'm not familiar at all with CSA holders, but from what I've seen, I think that regular sized cards should fit snug with no gap.

Considering past threads concerning CSA, I concur with others that say this Mantle card is trimmed.

I'd stay away from anything they grade .... no matter what the grade or luring price!

While there surely are a few very naive (not necessarily dumb) sellers out there, I have a feeling that this seller would crack and submit this card in a heartbeat if he didn't think for a moment that it had been altered.

I did not look at the auction but can only say this, is it in an old CSA holder or new?

If in a new one stay away, if it is in an old one it has a shot at crossing.

edited to add: It is in a new CSA holder so chances are it has a problem.

To answer the above question regarding 1960 reverses the answer is yes that is how they look.

If it was my card I'd have had it cracked and sub'd to PSA before I ever listed it on ebay.

Definitely trimmed - look at how close the bullet points on the back are to the edge of the card...

I'm not saying the card is trimmed or not trimmed BUT the bullet points are not the way to tell.

(on that specific card anyway) The bullet points are in the right spot.

See other 1960 Cards and you will see what I mean.

No one can say with 100% certainty that the card is trimmed.

Notice the bullet points on this PSA 8 graded Mantle............... 130268151889

The card comes with a "guaranteed trimmed or your money back" warranty.

I agree it most probably is trimmed I was just explaining that the bullets were not the way to tell.

The CSA card is also OC on the reverse which makes those bullets appear even closer to the border.
