So I purchased the following from BBCE yesterday as an Xmas gift to myself and had them overnight it to me.

(1) 1980/81 Topps Basketball Unopened Wax Box
(3) 1979/80 Topps Hockey Unopened Wax Pack
(1) 1987 Topps Football Unopened Wax Box
(1) 1976/77 OPC Hockey Unopened Wax Pack
(1) 1975 Topps Baseball Unopened Mini Wax Pack
(1) 2005/06 Upper Deck Hockey Unopened Series 1 Foil Box

The UPS man normally shows up around 4pm and it looks like I will be home when he gets here.

I really wanted a wax box of 75 minis to open but Steve only had a cello box on the web site.

I will post scans of the carnage.

79 Topps Hockey alas no Gretzky. Only card potentially worth subbing is Canadiens team card but upper right corner is a little soft.

87 Topps football. Fun rip but I don't think any are sure fire 10s so probably not subbing any from this lot either.

Next up will be the 80/81 basketball. This is my fourth or fifth box of 80/81 basketball box I've opened this year. I think I am going to retire the 80/81 rips after today (though I have said this before). I recently opened a 69/70 Topps basketball pack and the pack cost less than one of these 80/81 boxes. I got more excitement out of the 69/70 pack than I did from this entire box so I think I will do some 60s pack rips for 2009.

Both Bird/Magic rookies have machine damage on the left edges. I had two Bird only rookies but they were both wildly OC and one Magic only rookie that was OC as well.

I don't think there will be any cards from this box I sub.

Overall a fun way to blow $1600 on a Friday night.

I have ordered 5 packs of the 80/81 basketball and have gotten the same 3 Bird rookies out of the packs. At this point, I would be willing to settle for a rat chewed Bird/Magic
