Lions get 5th and final local TV blackout for game against the Saints

Around 9,000 tickets were unsold as of Wednesday and an unknown number still remained unsold at the Thursday deadline so
it is another home TV blackout for the Lions.

Is it because they are a 'prefect' 0-14, or because no one can stomach watching a team that actually blew a 17-0 lead against the lowly TB Yuks? image

Only 9,000? That's pretty good for a winless team in the worst State economy in the nation.
  • Up until this year Lions tickets we're fairly tough to get. The Lions have been through the worst 5-6 year stretch in NFL history but the fans continued to show up. Lions fans definitely aren't fair weather fans.

  • The number of unsold tickets seem to be creeping up for each home game which I think is a reflection of the ongoing decline in the Detroit area economy and the ongoing futility of the Lions this season. The line on the game is the Saints by 7.

Well if anything I think this is the last official year of the Bobby Layne curse? No championship for 50 years he said back in '58 I believe..

I'm old enough to remember their good teams, with Brown, Alex Karras and Night Train Lane. Was a fun team to watch play. Now its just sad.

Calvin Johnson is the most exciting WR in the NFL.

It's worth watching Lion games just to see if he does something spectacular.

Yes, but I can see highlights of Calvin on Sportscenter and locally!!!image

I'm rooting for 0-16 now and listening to the game on the radio.

    Fire the Fords!!!

I think the Auto Execs should have drove the Lions Medical Cart to Washington with a Paramedic giving first aid to William Clay Ford on the Cart. That would've been funny.image

  • Calvin Johnson had a huge year!! He's going to be a top five NFL receiver in the near future.

    Who's better now?

Andre Johnson has Matt Schaub, Steve Slaton, and Kevin Walter around him.
Roddy White has Matt Ryan, Michael Turner, and Jerious Norwood around him.
Steve Smith has DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart, and Muhsin Muhammad around him.
Larry Fitzgerald has ... I could go on, but you get the picture.

Calvin has NOBODY! How good would he be if he played on a real team?
