I'd call that one EF. Maybe EF45. There doesn't look like enough luster for an AU.
I call that the "ice cream cone" type 'cause her undersized torch looks like she's holding a melting ice cream cone in a windstorm. It's kind of a strange design, though not entirely unappealing.
It is a fairly common coin. While I would say it was worth the 99 cent bid, it isn't worth the 99 cents plus $3.95 shipping.
I had to learn about these things when I first started too, so don't feel bad. I can pick up those coins for 20 cents each at my local b&m shop. If you are looking for common world coins, I have several pounds I'll sell you so that you'll end up paying pennies for them, if you'd like. I also have a whole box of flipped foreign coins I'm trying to sell.
What I'm trying to say is - you paid too much for that coin.
Don't get discouraged. Look around where you live and look around here. I've bought many nice coins from the folks on this mb and they were a lot cheaper than if I'd had gotten them elsewhere.
