I did it! I now FINALLY completed my 1980-2000 Topps football set run (short one card)!
The second to last piece of the puzzle
I just purchased the final year I needed, 1997, to complete my 21 year run of Topps football sets from 1980-2000!
Well, it's almost complete anyway. I'm only one card short, and that's the Joe Montana RC in PSA 8. But other than that, my 1980-2000 run is complete and it only took me a little over a year (I started doing football October 2007)!
And then once I get the below PSA 7 cards, my 1974-2007 baseball set run will be finished as well!
Pretty sweet, eh?

Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
<< <i>Nice. Now you are going to have to add Basketball and Hockey. >>
I'm currently working on a 1986-90 Fleer b-ball run w/ graded Jordans (still need 1987 and 1986; I'm in NO hurry for 1986). But 1970s baseball (especially the key PSA 7 cards) will be my #1 focus for 2009.

I have baseball sets from 1975 to 2007. I keep them in albums. That's why I don't get factory sets. If I had a factory set, I would not want to open it, therefore it could not be put in an album.
I am working on 1974 now. I am going to keep going backwards (in lower condition).

<< <i>Congrats Estil. Are you still working on those 90's football insert sets? >>
No, I think you have the confused with my 1986-95 Fleer/Ultra baseball insert set project.
As for the other question, I keep my sets in binders/pages. If you go to Matt's Baseball Cards on Ebay (or Google search his store), you can order by the case BCW pages/binders for about as cheap as you're going to find. And for my 1970s sets, I get the key cards in PSA 7. And I did manage to take a picture of the shelves my binders are on once it's developed and paid for. I sure could use another shelf though.
Tell ya what though, don't be at all surprised if I decide to get 1970s football sets at some point too. That is, if I had four c-notes to blow on the 1977-79 sets over at BBCE...

That's right! I forgot. Those Ultra Baseball insert sets are great looking cards and undervalued. Check out some of the football inserts when you get a chance. I'm sure you'll get hooked.

<< <i>Congrats Estil...great accomplishment. Whats your favorite set from your complete run?
Jeff >>
Wow, that's a good question. You know how earlier I was able to rank all the 70s and 80s baseball designs? Well, I've been into baseball cards for over 15 years but only got into football cards a little over a year ago. So it's a little tougher to decide. For 1980s I'd have to go with 1985 because they have black borders just like 1971 Topps baseball. As for 1990s, I kinda like the 1994 set design for some reason.
As for whether or not I'm going to go into 1970s football or try to get it up to present day, I'm not sure on either. I wouldn't mind getting 1977-79 FB, but that's over $400 over at BBCE. I probably should do my best to stay focused on my primary goal, and that is to get the 1971-79 Topps baseball PSA 7 key cards finished.
