Some civil war dug coins

I have been picking these up the past week since I finally sold my house and will be moving back out west. I wanted something historical for the area. These were dug up around civil war camps. If I believe the shop owner then the holy half dime was found is a confederate camp behind Fort Powhatton south of Richmond, and the none holy was found in at confederate line of General Hood's Texas Brigade near Dunkard Church at Sharpsburg, Md. The dime, trime, and two large cents were dug up at various sites around Fredericksburg. I am working on getting a quarter this week but my camera will soon be packed and there will be no follow up pictures of that until the move is complete.
I know they are not the best examples of these types but they have a history that one can only imagine. So please forgive my pictures and enjoy these little guys.
And sorry for the large pictures.

  • These are from Virginia except for the one in MD. I bought these little guys at a place here in Fredericksburg called Regimental Headquarters. The guy specializes in Civil War antiques. He had these and I finally got the quarter, 1853. Missed the 1850 dime that was found in the same encampment as the quarter by a minute image It makes for a nice momento of Virginia.
