Holy Cow, over one million cards on ebay from one dealer!

This is not a huge lot either, this is 1 million single card listings on eBay! They are spending a ton on listing fees and time spent. I guess it must be working for them though.

I'll take that bet... more like 945,000 won't sell.

of the same card. Some had 5, some said more then 10 available. Guess
this is where the 30 million cards come in.
(neg) I bought and paid for this card and never received it. I am very upset! Buyer: jlthomps8995 ( 7 ) Dec-14-08 08:02

...very upset for $1.09?
Under The "Diamond PowerSeller" scheme, sellers have contracts with EBAY
that amount to "pay per sale" agreements. Listing fees are NOT an issue.
The sell through rates of all the DPSers are TINY. Some have fallen near 1%.
Of all the DPSers, Burbank is the ONLY one that really helps the site. If you
study their FB, you can see that their buyers also buy items from other sellers.
Lets face it, Ebay needs to pump up their numbers with listings etc. Im certain he isnt the only one.

Burbank is, small sellers in every category would benefit. By my
standards, Burbank is the ONLY decent one chosen thus far.
More than 300 names are currently working with consultants to
determine if they can make a deal and get in the mix.
Macy's and COSTCO certainly have potential to help the site.
But, most folks felt the same way about SEARS.

The numbers at toolhaus.org clearly indicate that just a few BAD
DPSers have the ability to run-off THOUSANDS of buyers from
the site each month.
.....
This guy is monitoring FB-removal irregularities among DPSers.
While fraudulent-removal has been widely alleged, all of the
"evidence" is anecdotal. (In any event, the site belongs to EBAY
and they can do whatever they want with it.)

The fight to capture the exodus of small/medium sellers is just
starting. A few folks will make nice money JUST by playing. The
BIG money will go to the ONE site that finally delivers. It's going
to be interesting to watch.
The Diamond powerseller is eBay’s newest powerseller level. Unlike your traditional powerseller these are typically big box retailers who have negotiated their status. These Diamond powersellers have negotiated fees and are also given temporary immunity regarding selling standards.
There are many that believe eBay covers up the feedback and DSRs for these sellers. This site will monitor the feedback of all known Diamond powersellers in order to validate or invalidate such claims. For each observed anolmoly we will attempt to explain it in terms of eBay’s current policies. If no rational explanation can be given this will also be noted.
<< <i>I've been buying from Burbank for years, long before eBay was an option. Going into their store was always fun. It's the most well-stocked, well-organized card store I've ever seen. The entire staff was always friendly and helpful. Years ago I moved and can no longer visit the store, but I buy from them on eBay and receive the same great service that I got in person. An outfit that large is sure to have some road bumps, but Burbank always tries to keep the customer happy. >>
Brett, you must be dealing with a different Burbank than other folks. I've been in there a few times over the years, and it always seems like the employees there are put off when you ask them about particular cards. Their great online service used to consist of them listing cards (with multiple quantites available) and then emailing that they didn't actually have them. All those cards they now have listed on eBay? As Ross stated, they are all waaaaaay over "book" value, and not a single one of them has a scan. I can understand not including a scan for a 5 cent common, but some of their modern parallels are pretty rare - putting up a scan of a card they're asking $150 for isn't too much to ask for, imo. If I'm a prospective buyer of a rare card, a scan to judge condition of said card should be expected.
Having said all that, I did purchase a 1998 parallel I had been looking for for a looooong time. I somewhat overpaid, but since I'd never seen one come up before, I snapped it up. To their credit, it did arrive quickly and in great shape.
