1886 TY-1 S-1 Indian Cent,,, Images
Hello,
I won an auction this week for a 1886 TY-1 in a MS 64 RB to upgrade my MS 63 RB, When It arrived I was suprised when it turned out to be the S-1 Variety. It also has a real cool die crack on the reverse thru the shield.

Too early in the morning I guess. When I looked at the shield close-up my brain processed it as an incused device with a planchet crack. Must be the lighting angle. I had to look at the slab pics to convince myself that the shield was raised. Upon taking a second look at the close-up I could see it correctly; the shield is raised and it is a die crack. Funny how we sometimes process things in the wrong perspective. Nice coin.
