1979 D lincoln cent wierd blob/mintmark?

I was looking through my pocket change and i found this. It doesn't look like a mint mark, it just looks like a blob. Sorry for the bad pic, these are the best my camera can do. (it was shot through a microscope)

Edited to add: What is it? Is it a variety, error? Is it rare, common? Is it worth more then 1 cent?

thats as good a mint mark as they had in '79...

its also "RPM" # 1

RPM = re=punched mint mark.

That's just a normal mintmark for 1979D. The notch in the lower serif is very common, it's damage on the mintmark punch.
