evidence of trim??

sitting here going through a stack of cards i think im going to send in soon to get Graded, and up Pops a Card that has been rejected on 2 diffrent occasions as being EVIDENCE OF TRIM, so logically i start to investigate the card more closely and match it up to other cards for size ETC.

Card size is normal, nothing looks funny about the card, i guess its just frustrating when u have done your Homework and inspected a card before u ship it into PSA to get graded and it comes back as EVIDENCE OF TRIM..........logic tells me, now tell me if i am wrong, but a trimmed card is usually smaller correct? i meen a card is only so big and u can only supposdly trim a certain amount off without losing correct dimension L to R or U to D so then why does it match up with all the cards i have?..i know , i know no one can answer it, i guess im just frustrated beacuse the card is a beauty lol

Not always. I card may come oversize and someone may trim it down to size.

Or, if the edges of a card look like they were cut with something different from what the card manufacturer used to cut them originally, they will see that too.

There are also cards that come with perforations and if the cards are not separated properly by using scissors or a razor to cut them, that card will receive "evidence of trimming".
  • Here's a very interesting and informative LINK that goes into depth concerning altered/trimmed cards.

It also includes a few other links about similar topics.

  • sometimes Psa is a little overly cautious about the whole Evidence of trimming grade. I have sent in cards I pulled from a sealed rack pack case that came back Evid. of trimming. So take it for what it's worth, If you submit again you may not get the evid. of trimming.

I had a 69 Topps "Williams shows how" card come back evid of trim, which is complete BS. Card is same size as all the others. Like buying a couple gallons of gas only to find out you pumped air and still got charged for it
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY
