Anyone going to any Bowl games this year?

While it's not the most exciting bowl game I'll be at the St. Pete Bowl on Dec. 20th to cheer on my USF Bulls. We got our tickets yesterday and while we're in the USF section, we'll be in the 6th row of the upper deck on the 40-ish yard line by the look of the seating chart. Not bad at all. We'll probably outnumber Memphis fans 10:1 so the atmosphere should be like another Bulls home game. I still can't believe I'm going to watch FOOTBALL in the TROP! It's going to be a different experience for sure.

I'm also planning on attending the Outback Bowl over at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. No affiliation with Iowa or S Carolina but my sister's apartment is just a few blocks from Ray Jay and she has 3 free tickets to the game (nosebleeds in the corner endzone but free) so we might go to that game for the heck of it. You can NEVER get too much college football!

Anyone else going to a bowl game this year?

I think my kids are going to the Sugar Bowl. One does not need much of an excuse to go to New Orleans.
  • Ever since I set up that HDTV in my basement, it has become much more difficult to attend live sporting events.
It has dwindled down to one hockey game and one baseball game a year.
  • No bowls for me, the nearest one is the Motor City bowl in Detroit.

Central Michigan vs some team from Florida I think (can't recall right now).

Since I'm not really a Central Michigan fan I'm not going.

    Just TV viewing for me.

Yeah that's Florida Atlantic. They're another one of the young up and coming football programs in Florida. USF has only been D-1 since 2001, UCF since 1998 and FAU and FIU since 2003 I believe.

Central Michigan fans will dominate that stadium on gameday. FAU has a hard time drawing crowds of more than 15,000 for home games so they'll probably bring no more than a couple thousand up to Detroit, especially since it's the day after Christmas.
