PAYPAL QUESTION- some advice please

When insurance is optional, should I purchase it when paying for a card with PAYPAL. I thought when it is optional you don't have to purchase it and you're still covered as the buyer. Thanks in advance for the advice.

From what I remember when I used to run a mail order operation is that it's the shippers responsibility to insure and properly ship an item.

paypal will side with the buyer.

Even if the seller claims to the contrary.

The ONLY time that a buyer should buy insurance, is if the seller refuses to.

I sorta hate that concept, but here's the rub:

PayPal will side with the buyer, if the items arrive damaged.

    BUT...........

If the seller provides DC/SC, and the USPS misdelivers the item,
PayPal will side with the seller.

Misdeliveries are rare, but they do happen. They have happened
    to ME.

  • insurance on anything over $100 is not worth it, statisically speaking. I use to do purchase it for $300 buys.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!
