Who else is good for vintage wax boxes besides Steve @ bbcardexchange

I'm thinking about picking up a couple of unopened 70's wax boxes. Who else can you trust besides Steve at bbcexchange. Not saying that I am not going to buy from him, but he doesn't have a lot of 70's boxes to choose from.

email Steve, he can let you know when something comes in.
no point in buying from anyone else.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

  • I wish there were other trustworthy dealers of unopened 70s boxes . I bought a 79 OPC baseball from Steve
and would like to finish the set with more centered cards but he doesnt have anymore.

Steve is great , I had an order for some 80s and 90s junk i placed and the order was slightly wrong , i got 2 of the same boxes
and didnt get one box i was supposed to . Not a big deal . I emailed him and he said keep the box and he sent the box i was
missing. Nice of them to do that .

Always looking for Chipper Jones cards.
Im a very focused collector of cards from 1909 - 2012...LOL
  • The only 2 I would trust other than Steve that have their own websites, would be Mark Murphy or Dacardworld. However, they rarely have anything from the 70's other than 1979 Topps and occassionally 1978 Topps and their prices are always higher than BBCE.

On eBay there are a few that I have bought from before that I trust. Opinions may vary, but I have bought some 80's stuff from Higbees and Carsoncitycoins. Occassionally they will have a box or two from the 70's but they are consignment items so you have no idea who the original owners were.

I've had good luck with Higbees and DACardWorld also, but as said above they don't always have vintage stuff.

Indeed, I once ordered a 1980 Topps football set from him that was not in the condition I wanted, so Steve was originally going to refund me, until I suggested that he send a 1999 and 2000 Topps factory set in its place. Steve agreed to do so despite the fact that the 1999/2000 sets were a bit more expensive than the 1980 set. I still need to get that 1997 set of his to complete my run though...
