I've been looking for a nice vintage card signed by Pistol Pete for some time now. That one always seems to elude me!

Always looking to upgrade any of my Topps sets from 1969 to 1982. Still need a few 69 Rulers, need a few 71s and need to upgrade many 72s. Rest are NM or better. Nothing graded, all raw.

i have a full 61 Fleer set with a 6 GPA and I'm about 1/4 of the way there on 57 and 69. Sets are on hold for the moment while I'm out of work, but I also collect some basketball autos. I just finished up a 57 Celtics signed basketball and I'm 2/5 on a 58 Hawks signed floorboard. Will post some scans when I can.
  • Hey Reese! I thought your focus has been reset only on football rookie auto? or perhaps Maravich auto is an isolated cases

It is, but I've always wanted a Maravich! He was the only signature I needed to complete the Top 50 auto set. I'm going to put the set back together at some point.

Nothing but basketball here. The only product I buy every year are Topps (just a couple of boxes because I can't wait for Topps Chrome), then Topps Chrome.

Not sure that I am a big basketball collector, but am presently working on 1986-87 Fleer Basketball set in a PSA 9+ grade. Built a 1987-88 Fleer Basketball with overall grade of 9.17. Own a couple Jordan PSA 9 RC's and Bird/Magic RC PSA 9 and two 1986-87 Fleer PSA 9 sticker sets. Thats it for me with no plans to add anything else.

I collect basketball as well but it's just one area of focus (I use the term focus very loosely however). I have started on the HOF registry (not very far along at all) and I've got a pretty decent start on the Jordan registry sets (both Basic and Master)

I have a HOF RC collection, but i havn't added to it a couple years. I also got into international cards that are very tough to find. I attempted to find the first card ever produced of every hall of famer..

I still need a SK Lopchick and 61 Fleer Bellamy.........

Here are most of my cards.........

I have since sold my 61 fleer set on the bottom, but have kept the scans

    I've also built 2 websites

    International cards
    HOF Rookies

The websites are hosted free and have limited bandwidth. If you are unable to view, just try back later.

    FINISHED 12/8/2008!!!

Have you ever shown your sets on here before? I'd love to see them. At least they don't take up nearly as much binder/pages space as baseball sets would, right? image

I'm also a basketball collector. My main focus right now is Jabbar plus the 70's oddball issues such as Pepsi, RC cola cards, Superstar sock cards, team issues, postcards, etc. I am also trying to finish up my 70's topps sets.

  • Don't post here much, glad I looked

    Chasing vintage
1957 finished in 7 very centered,
    60, 61, 62 Kahn's in progress
61 Fleer almost done in 7-8
    63 Kahn's done
West Master all but 68 test (do have Comspec)

Fun to chase the Kahn's, very tough, only after 60-63, the Jerry West run. Really need a 60 Robby RC

Great to hear from other bkb card fans

  • Yea I surprised to see so many bkb collectors. It just seems that there are mostly football and baseball collectors in here (or just in general for whole hobby). So it's good to know that we are here, althought quieter image

Austin, perhaps we need a Love the Vintage Basketball thread to keep those of us addicted to vintage basketball and basketball autos going. I always read the football one.

In the past I nearly completed in PSA 9 condition 73, 75, and 77 thru 79 sets which were all listed under Al and Sandys Sets. Unfortunately family and finances resulted in my selling the sets, which are still listed but under the new owners name....I am now working on an 87/88 and 88/89 set graded.....slowly as the finances permit. I've also bought sets from 2002 to the present for my son who is collecting only basketball sets....

1 card left for the 70-71 Topps Set in all PSA 8-9. On the lookout for a centered Maravich right now. Came just shy of the 86-87 Fleer complete in PSA 9 some years back. That was when cards like Johnny Moore and Vern Fleming cost $100-$150 in 9. Still have a (mainly raw) 86-87 Fleer set minus the Jordan. Think I may have some misc sets from the early 90's as well. I really only like1970 and earlier besides the 86... which I've been contemplating doing again in 9. The only other basketall cards I want from post 70 would be an 8 or 9 Erving rc and a psa 9 Bird, Magic, Erving card.
Heck, I don't even like basketball that much!!!

Hey Art, good to hear from you. I have been looking at current stars rookie auto as well but the problem is there are just too many rookie autos for each. Can you help me to identify the best of the bunch to find THE ROOKIE AUTO for the following guys?

    - Tony Parker (SPX ?)
    - Amare (SPX or Ultimate Collection ?)
    - Carlos Boozer (SPX ?)
    - Manu Ginobili ?

    THanks!
