Tuberville Gone at Auburn

I think he got a raw deal. He beat Alabama six years in a row, and had a 13-0 season (but got screwed out of the BCS). He was 85-40 at Auburn.

FWIW, the buyout is $6 million.
  • College sports is more and more of a "what have you done for me lately" situation.

Losing to your arch rival by an embarassing score was just too much for the powers that be at Auburn.
  • Muschamp, the defensive coordinator at Texas this year, was Auburn's defensive coordinator last year. I would expect
him to be on the short list.

I also believe that Houston Nutt from Ole Miss is the best game coach in the SEC, along with Saban, and Meyer a distant third.
I would expect Nutt to possibly get an offer.

Too bad for Tubberville. I really liked the guy. Tubberville hired and fired too many people in my opinion. Not enough consistency
in his program. Should have never let Muschamp get away. Not sure if he had much to do with it though.

While I am not an Auburn fan, the decision seems to be short sided and not too smart

I don't follow Auburn too closely but it seems they have put very competitive teams on the field during his tenure. Seems like a bad decision. I wonder if Tennessee wished they had waited a day before hiring Kiffin!? I would much prefer Tuberville to be coach than Kiffin.
