    I agree. Most cut auto'd cards have very little eye appeal.

    I hate the trend that cuts existing autographed cards to make these stupid window cut cards. Whoever thought of the idea needs to be punched in the face.

    Agreed that its pretty stupid to do that but.....what do they care? They are probably getting it really really cheap so thats what they use.

    did that come out of the tristar packs? i think thats their logo-the ones with the junk bccg stuff for 10$ a pop,i dont know why they do that,seems to me they could find plenty of 3x5 to cut a auto off than just wack a 57 in halfimage

    VERY stupid looking card IMHO, but if it's any consolation, the cut signature appears to be on a reissue card or something of some sort. I seriously doubt they'd chop up a card of that caliber. It just looks too "new" to me.

    I was wondering when they would start cutting up old cards to put on new ones. I mean they cut up bats and jerseys.

    Why not cut up a 52 Mantle into a hundred pieces and put it on a 2009 Topps Special Edition, Gold Stamped, Serial Numbered, Short Print Parallel card? (And of course being a Topps card they could create a special "error" version with the image upside down and Mantle riding a lawnmower)

    The card is actually a 1956 Topps reprint (made in 1994 I think...) but I agree it looks HORRIBLE. Cut cards look nice when the auto is taken is taken from a paper cut or index card...but anything created from butchering another card or even 8 x 10 is an abomination (sp??). I think one of the early 2000's cut sets produced dozens of Walter Payton "cut" cards which used butchered cards such as the Schmidt card highlighted by Ahmanfan.

    I agree that the card company employees who participate in such unspeakable horror should be caned...

    The "cut" card looks different to me. The "J" doesn't break pass the white border and bleed into the yellow area like the on the original uncut card. I don't think it's the same signature.
