this guy too

I bid on and won an auction for a jonathan toews card tonight. There was no specified s/h. I sent the guy a message with no response but bid on it anyway. After the auction he sends me an invoice for 9.99 s/h. Can I tell this scrote to pound sand? Also, I am the high bidder on another one of his auctions. CAn this be retracted? What would you do.

You have the option of not paying, but you'll most likely receive an unpaid strike against your account.

If there are more than 12 hours remaining on the other auction, you can RETRACT your bid.

If there are less than 12 hours ... only if you retract the bid within one hour of placing it. When you retract the bid, eBay removes only your most recent bid. Bids you placed prior to the last 12 hours of the listing are not removed.

Report the excessive shipping charges to ebay. They'll handle it.

If it's your only strike, a quick call to ebay will have it removed. While you're on the phone, have the seller removed, too. image

9.99 for one card is insane. Is he an ebay rookie???
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!

Obviously, it's best to know the S+H before making a purchase.
If sellers don't respond to requests for S+H quotes, there is
    sometimes a reason.

    ....

I would contact the seller, and ask why the S+H is so high.

If I didn't like his answer, I would decide how badly I wanted
    the card.

If you get an unpaid item strike - doubtful - it will be removed
    upon your request.

The stated-shipping requirements will be fully enforced on EBAY,
starting on about January 15. Sellers will have to state S+H, or
    use the calculator.

LOTS of the shipping gougers will likely soon be gone. Mandatory
"free" S+H is probably right around the corner. If not, there will
be a max-limit set; like the one in cds/dvds.

Is the seller's location listed? If it's shipping international, $10 may not be that much of a rip-off depending on what country it's coming from.

He is in quebec, canada. And, since I couldn't retract my other bid, I won the item and now he wants 19.98 for two cards.image If he expects me to pay I'd say hes
