Can a nice G4 Draped Bust quarter be found in a PCGS or NGC holder for under $500?

I'm not certain about the price structure at that grade, but I can tell you that in my experience most of these coins in PCGS or NGC G4 holders are either net graded pieces or are overgraded

Yeah, the G4-6 coins I've looked at so far are all over the place on details.

hey, thanks for the shout-out, but first, none of my DBQs are slabbed, and second, I've been priced out of DBQs for a year or more, now.

That said, Price Guide for a common date in Good-4 is $450. As for availability at that level, rumor has it the coin market is tanking and these will be coming down. I'm looking forward to that as there are several 1806 varieties I still need, and of course the 1796 and 1804. haven't seen it yet but hope springs eternal...

Of those pictured, I prefer the 1806/5 to the 1805. The former I'd grade Good 5 and the latter, AG 3.5

The 1806/5 is cool because it's such an obvious overdate, even in low grade. If you can find one without paying too much of a premium I say go for it.

    Here's one...

of the kind Tom seems to have been referring to..

In my book AG-3 would be generous due to the wear, digs, and surfaces. two-and-a-hay would be more like it

These just went up in the greysheet quarterly in g to vf.....
Not sure a bear market will hit these, it apperars to be going the other way.

Kinda makes you wonder how premium some coins in PCGS slabs are huh?

I will say it one more time...Buy the coin, not the holder! image

I think she looks wonderful!! How much is ask?
  • I think grading on the older coins are always a problem as the gem uncirculated of 200 years ago is much different than today

NFC is asking $700 which is way too much for me. I would gladly pay $500 for it though (they turned down that offer image )

It was available through NFC on eBay for $510 if you bought it for $700 and used your MSN cashback promotion.

    $500 plus $10 shipping

I tried and tried and tried to use that MSN offer on this coin, but it just wouldn't work. I know I was doing everything correctly because when I finally gave up on this coin I bought another coin right away with the MSN 30% off.
