DSLR camera question - tethering to the computer

derrybderryb Posts: 37,630 ✭✭✭✭✭
Does anyone know if there is a DSLR that will "tether" to the computer so that the computer monitor can be used to view the "live action" (as seen in the much smaller camera LCD screen) as i change the lighting arrangement. Would be nice to have this feature to capture the perfect lighting.

Breezesys makes software that tethers your canon dslr to the computer. I've been meaning to try it for a long time. Thanks for the reminder, I think I'll order it today. --jerry

You will need an SLR with a Liveview finction - where the screen can double as the viewfinder. Many of the newest ones do, older ones won't.

Canon XSi and higher end will do this with the EOS Utility (free with camera). And it is critical for conveyor belt imaging.

I just checked the manual and it says nothing about it (I have an XTi). I'll load the software and see what happens. --Jerry
