  • Looks ok to me, just a harshly cleaned coin. The picture on the right is slightly rotated to give you a wrong perspective, IMO. BUt I sure don't know the series, so I will let the other chime in.

Edited to add: The right picture is slightly rotated and angled to give the wrong perspective.

  • is there a raised line at 2:30 (where that crater is next to the leaf)? If so, then the one at 9 would make this a well known fake. If you have the coin in hand look for toolmarks on the right hand side of the ribbon.

I can't authenticate or condem that coin from those pics.

Neither can I. But I will say that there are indications that the coin may have been removed from a mount.

I'll do a WAG and say it's real. I have never seen a counterfeit gold coin heavily worn and cleaned.

I can't tell from the pics either
But I can say that I disagree with the last 2 posts ahead of this one.

Agree. Probably real due to its very lousy condition. Looks like an ex-jewelry piece. Heavily cleaned and/or polished.
