thoughts about lastest run of non-sport in sets

Just curious what the thoughts here were about the recent additions of non-sport cards (presidents, sharks, aviators etc.) in the sports sets by Topps and other companys.

I have no thoughts on this issue.
  • I Like buying base sets for 5 to 15 bucks for a complete set.

I don't go after the chase cards i. e. autograph, sketch, costume and on into nauseum.

Instead of some #1 to 25 card artificially created rarity, try to locate a 1937 Wolverine Gum Ripley's Believe It Or Not No. 34 - "THE GREAT JOHN L."

I will gladly buy any crease free VG or better example for $1,000.00.
    30's R Want List:

    R73 1933 Goudey Indian Gum - Series 288 - Nos. 118
Also looking for 1953 Parkhurst & 1953 Quaker Oats Ripley's BION.

If you have any available for sale PM me

Hun are you talking about vintage sets? or modern?

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • I was refering t the recent presidents and famous historical figures in the new Allen & Ginter and Goudey sets. Topps has election figures as well.

Is this favorable for non-sport collectors ? Do the sports cards just make it unbearable to purchase these ?
