Is it from one of those baseball magazines?

not sure. it is hard stock like a normal card, not soft like found in some of the mags.

    Thanks,

I don't know what "set" this is from, but I am pretty sure it is an unauthorized card from the early 90's. When I was a junior in Highschool I had a small card shop inside another store for a summer and picked up a whole bunch of different cards of Griffey and Jordan that were unauthorized. I got them for like 25¢ each and sold them for a buck. This was one of them. I can't remember where I got them. Don't think PSA would touch it.

here's a link to a Griffey collector's thread over on freedomcardboard.com. I've never read through it, but I know there are some rabid Griffey fans on that board.

I think you are on to something there. I remember seeing this card before, and I think it is from Baseball Cards magazine. I believe they did a several Griffey Jr. cards modeled after older Topps issues. I found these examples currently listed on eBay:

    1969 Topps Knockoff Griffey Jr.

    1980 Topps Knockoff Griffey Jr.
Currently working on: Kurt Warner PSA 9 or 10

No, that Griffey is not from Baseball Cards Magazine (nor any of its sister mags); those were always identified as such on back (with the exception IIRC, of the 1956 Bowman-style Mantle). The pictured card is an unauthorized ("broder") issue.
