1812 large cent with nice surfaces

Going through the remnants of my type set and came across this large cent. I had forgotten about this coin until I saw Coinlieutenants
post on his great new classic head.
I grade this a nice G-VG, but its the planchet and color that I really like. You don't find too many classic heads with nice brown color and no
corrosion.
One question for the copper guys:

Would you soak this in olive oil to get some of the dirt off, or just leave it alone? Its not too distracting

I would leave it just as it is -- lots of folks would be very happy with such a coin.

You might try Xylol and a cotton swab or rose thorn

I think it looks just great how it is, the dirt is almost expected given the age and the grade.

The coin has some verdigris. It's unlikely that you will be able to remove the verdigris and it's not overly distracting for a coin of this grade/condition. I don't think I'd soak it unless you just want to experiment. Xylol the coin to remove any surface dirt/ debris and apply some Blue Ribbon or mineral oil and brush. It should look fine with this little procedure.
