COMES WITH A GAI cert of auth
is gai good for this?? I know we have some good auto experts here

    I don't know, but I have seen quite a few Mantle / Williams photos just like that lately. You might do a search and see if there are others like it.

    Now that I look at the Mantle...Look at at the bottom of the M in Mickey...It matches the curve in his pants to well and all of the blue in the Mickey Mantle seems to have a slight white border (Look at the M in Mantle by the bat). Maybe you can ask the seller you want to see a minimum of 600 pixel wide scan of both sides. That will get you a better look.

    Both the Williams and Mantle signatures on that GAI piece are forgeries. With no doubt. Don't waste your money.

    That is definitely one of the worst Mantle sigs I've ever seen.

    At least the Williams sig is all the same color, unlike the 2 shades of blue used for the Mantle.

    The Mantle forgery is all the same color, but it gets lighter and darker in the areas where the photo has brighter and darker areas. Just look at the Williams forgery by his hands. It looks to be a different color, too, but it's just the way the marker shows up against some of the darker/lighter areas of the photo.

    Here is a rotated 90 deg crop of the Mickey sig. Again look at the white border around the sig. The white border actually takes away the actual shadows in Mickey's pants. Not sure why it's there, but it should not be there.

    ebay really needs to not list GAI as an approved authenticator for autographs. the people at GAI should be in jail for all the fake mantle, williams, dimaggio and koufax autos out there.
