How many flippers have turned into hoarders?

Have you ever purchased something with the full intention of selling quick and ended up keeping?

I trick myself into believing every coin I buy I will keep a long time. Really. But then something comes along I like better. I can't afford both. So I sell the one I was going to keep forever. Rinse, repeat.

I think in this economy especially with the great opportunities for 2008 bullion rarities a longer term hold strategy is the best way to proceed.
I think we are looking at almost all of these doubling in price in the next 2-3 years. Maybe even going higher. I feel good about my hoard of 2008 Plats and Gold issues!

Most of the stuff I buy with the intent to flip goes ... eventually ... but a fair amount of it (a third? a half?) stays for a longer visit than I tell myself it will when I buy it.
The good news is ... I've been collecting since 1978 or so, but there can't be more than fifteen or twenty coins in my collection that I've had for longer than five years. Everything but the best of the best turns over after a while.
