Will PCGS attribute this '56 Franklin Pf DDO?

I just purchased this 1956 Pf DDO die 4 ANACS PF66CAM. I've never submitted anything to PCGS before. Does anyone know if PCGS will attribute this with the correct die # on the label?

I don't think so. I believe that PCGS only attributes Fivas-Stanton varieties.

  • No they will not attribute the die number.

Basically PCGS attributes varieties by Fivaz Stanton (FS) number. So, you need to get yerself a Cherrypickers Guide and compare the doubling on your coin with the coin pictured in the CPG.

If they are a match, you will get the FS attribution.

If Die 4 is not the one in the CPG, they will either slab as "Minor Variety- Doubled Die" or they will not attribute at all. Depends on which way the wind is blowing that day.

  • Thanks. I think the only '56 proof Franklin in the CP guide is a DDR listed as FS-801
