The desk in my home office is supposed to serve as a "staging ground" of sorts for my new arrivals. It tends to end up looking more like a "dead letter office" though, as I never seem to be able to get things moved from the desk to either my permanent collection or into my inventory. I tried cleaning it up tonight, which essentially meant I was going to move the piles around, look for a few cards I was missing, and at least try to set up a "permanent collection" section of the desk and a "need to list" section.

Somehow, without adding 1 card to the desk, and throwing away a bunch of empty 25ct. Top Loader holders boxes, the stacks are bigger now than when I started, and my "Permanent Collection" stack is sitting on top of the cover of my scanner, as I don't have any room on the desk proper. How on earth did this happen?

So, to celebrate the magical powers of my desk, I figured I'd start a "what do you have sitting around on your desk" thread. Among the cards that have been sitting on my desk for a while (and these are just permanent collection cards):

1954 Topps Hank Aaron Rookie (
The Texas Tommy Rube Marquard Autographed card I won from Mastro (I thought I had put it in my safe. Whoops!)
1957 Topps Yankeees Team card signed by Yogi Berra
More Bowman Chrome Gold Refractor cards than you would want to count (baseball, basketball, even hockey)

What goodies does everyone else have laying around where they type?

My desk is also kind of a staging ground for new arrivals, and I just got a 1964 topps Willie Mays PSA 6 in the mail today. So I've been admiring it, as its a really great looking 6.

mine was, but i boxed it al up and sent it out free to people to get it out of my face a month ago, it looked good then,it looking pretty sad now again i cant see real good though,i think the world is on it s side

I have a 6'x3' table covered with 1000 psa slabbed Emmitt Smith cards, a scanner and my laptop. Oh and an occassional beer to help move things along.

I have been rescanning my entire set and organizing it. When they changed the registry, cards were deleted and the scans got all screwed up .

Going on a week now
