There is really nothing we can do because once you change the DNS pointer we have to wait for the ISP to propagate fully through the internet. You can call your ISP and tell them you're still seeing the old or nothing and if there's anything they/you can do to make the dNS propagation occur faster.

I haven't been able to get on all day and I have no idea what your statement means. So the problem is on my end?
I was just on the site (Non VIP member) and it seemed to be running fine. It's faster then it's ever been for me. Although, I'm now using Google Chrome rather then IE7.
Almost makes me want to do the 24 hour thing.

I would think that VCP could have notified its customers that on November 25th that they would be doing maintenence.
Ot whatever they want to call it.

I certainly didn't. When we do maintenance on our e-commerce site, we have a landing page explaining as much and any major site downtime would occur in the dead of night on a weekend.
We did notify the members by placing a Yellow Alert on the homepage as well as in the forums. We migrated all the site last night and have been working to fix all the bugs. We are taking care of them one at a time and everything should be back to normal today.

What the hell kinda BS answer is that...
It's our fault or my ISP providers fault that you don't have your crap together when you convert from one server to another. We do this all the time where I work and the business isn't down for the day!!!

I almost never look at the homepage or forums. Why not send members an email of any upcoming outage instead? Seems to only make sense.

I completely agree. Over communicating to your customers would only help. I had no idea this coming either because I never look at the homepage or forums either.
Seems very obvious and rudimentary for any subscription site. I still don't understand why the maintenance window wasn't in the middle of the nite when few use the site. That gives you a little extra time if things take longer than expected.

Me either, instead of 20 emails telling me the same card is up for auction, Maybe an e-mail telling me the site will be down would have been better, just my 2 cents.
i ahve never looked on there at stuff, its it just pricelist they compile of sales baically? woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo 62, id trade ya for 3 26's
Again I am very sorry that some of you are experiencing problems in accessing the site.
This has been a very stressful few days for us and we are trying our best to get everything resolved in a timely manner. In the long run the site experience will be greatly improved for the members and there will no longer be any hang ups.
We have made some changes and you should all be able to log in at this time.
If you migrate servers, you don't have to completely shut-down what's on the old servers. You can simply put up a "We're Moving" page on the old server, telling people to keep checking back until the DNS info gets propagated throughout all the various ISPs out there. Once it propagates, they'll automatically see the new server and THEN you can completely shut down the old one.
Rather than post a sticky tag memo on the home page (which I don't pay attention to) and in the forums (which I don't read), why not send a simple email to you members alerting them to upcoming issues? Not only would it alert those that don't look for Easter eggs on the site, but it would be a step in the right direction toward improving communication. Currently, it seems that most of us that use VCP find out about changes or issues AFTER the fact and rarely from VCP. That's a sad commentary on how you are running your business.

DNS propagation delay is a 100% legit excuse folks. Everyone need to chill out.

Or... maybe it's just issues with the new server. Technology can be a pain sometimes.

I agree it is a pain...which is why we pay our subscription so Bobby can hire the appropriate resources and hardware/software to eliminate outages.
I work in e-commerce and if we had an outage this long, many, many people would lose their jobs. I'm just sayin'
