Anyone know what PSA 2 and PSA 3 of 48 Bowman Berra and 49 Bowman Snider typically sell for??

I'm looking to purchase PSA2 or PSA3 of a 1948 Bowman Yogi Berra and a 1949 Bowman Duke Snider in order to get them signed for my HOF signed rookie collection. Does anyone know the market good enough to know that I should expect to pay for PSA 2 or PSA 3 of these two cards?

Thanks,

Mike

I would think you would have to pay 200.00 for each of them.

    Hi Steve,

Do you think that gets me 2's or 3's?

When I need to price a card I go to ebay and see what Levi sells his for.

I then subtract a certain pct and come up with a price I think I could use.

It is sorta a poor mans VCP.

Mike....it gets you either. I really don't think the difference between a 2 and a 3 is that great.

At that level eye appeal is what sells.

If I can make a suggestion: try to get at least a 3 or possibly a 4 for both of the cards. Due to the size of the cards, the condition flaws tend to show up a little bit more, especially when signed. I bought both of mine already signed, but this might illustrate what I'm talking about:

    Nice condition Snider:

    OK condition Berra:

Granted the watermark might be more distracting than any condition issues, but when you have them in hand, you notice the difference. As long as the price isn't much more, I'd say hold out to get the better condition cards.

The magic marker/flair pen autos look terrible.

What happened to using an old fashioned ball point.

    Especially on such small cards.

    Sean,

Very nice Snider. I like the colored cards so much better than the black and white.

I'm in complete agreement. I much prefer ballpoint pen signatures, but was willing to take what I could get.

Thanks for the help guys, struck a deal today with a fellow board member for this one. Still need a Snider. I've got a call into Yogi's family business as well to see if he'll sign it, "It ain't over 'till it's over, Larry Yogi Berra" for me.

Don't feel too bad Rube, I've got another Nolan rookie that's been at his foundation since March!! I call on it about every other month and they tell me it's still in good hands. (but not mine)

If the super fine sharpie is used, I have seen some that look pretty sharp. But.... I agree, the fat sharpie is not my first choice.
