Competition between grading STANDARDS is a good thing?
I'm all for competition in general, but there are some things where standardization is beneficial. I believe that grading standards are one of them, and I think we would have been better off if PCGS and NGC had chosen to use exactly the same standards. To me, it would have been sufficient for them to compete on consistency, service, price, holders, marketing, websites, etc. They didn't need to have different grading standards to compete with each other, and we shouldn't be happy the way things turned out.
Agreed?
Of course, I understand that it's too late for anything to change.

So so true.
That doesn't change the past or the future, but philosophically I agree with you, Andy.
They're too consistent for that to be the explanation.
