Saw this for sale and was wondering how this was a MS66RD??? It looks really worn down to me image

    As a restrike, it's not wear, it's just strike quality.
    Positive BST transactions with: too many names to list! 36 at last count.

    Struck from severely rusted dies. BTW, it's not an official mint product.

    From Coinfacts:

    The "Restrike" combines an altered obverse of 1803 Sheldon 261 and a reverse of 1820 Newcomb 12 (Sheldon mis-identified it as a die of 1818; Dr. Charles McGirk mis-identified it as a reverse of 1810). This reverse die was also used to "restrike" 1810 Large Cents in Tin.

    I wouldn't mind winning that lot-- I've seen some high grade examples but never an MS66RED. This one could go for as much as $5k.
  • I checked the cert number and pcgs came back with POP 1 with 0 higher and 0 lower ??? That cant be right can it??
