1981 Fleer error list

I know it's not a 'holy grail' of baseball sets, but I want to build a complete 1981 Fleer set, complete with errors. I know I could just buy one, but there's the fun of the chase. I just grabbed a vending box from eBay, and I'm thinking about getting a wax box, too. ;-)

So can anyone point me towards an online list of errors in the 1981 set. I know there were a boat load, but I can't find a list of them all.

  • I want to tag along and see the list also. I remember all those "hand" symbols on a bunch of cards. This seems like a fun set to put together.
  • I don't know if it is complete, but the Pop Report has quite a few listed. I guess any that have ever been submitted. I have the set I collected from packs in 1981 still, but I know they would never get high PSA grades. Still a neat set with quite a few quirks.

  • But other than that, the set was pretty much error free.

For anyone who does not know what the "finger" varation looks like, here it is. It is on different spots on each of the cards. It looks like a hand with the index finger pointing. It is nder the "O" of Orioles. Sorry for the poor scan but I tried the best I could.
    Thnaks,
    Bob

    Good Luck with the set!
  • I bought box after box looking for the Craig Nettles. That error was hot for a while. It drove the price of unopened boxes fron $9.00 all the way up to $11.00!!

I always heard a story that an employee was upset and put little drawings of middle fingers on the cards.

I never heard that before. Besides, it looks more like an index finger pointing.

If I may make a suggestion? Instead of just getting one vending box, why not get a complete numbered set of four? See, as you probably know, they numbered the sets 1-4, which makes three sets; so wouldn't that improve your chances of getting all the errors?
