Just for fun. The crappy brother

Posting Tony Gwynn Jr. in the "son of a professional athlete" thread got me to thinking about another Tony Jr.'s uncle Chris, who was definitely the lesser-talented brother. Yes, I know it takes great talent to reach the pinnacle of any sport, but you guys know what I mean. I'll start the thread off with this one:

Can't include Dom, Ted Williams said he was one of the best players of their time.

As a 6 time All-Star, I think he'd make it to the "lesser brother" list, not the "crappy brother" list.
How about these guys...

Point taken. Lesser-talented works, which was mentioned in the first paragraph (but not the title). How about Dave Sax?

<< <i>At one point, Ramon Martinez was the star and Pedro was just the little brother. As time passed, Ramon became the "crappy" brother. >>
And at one point, there was a third Martinez brother in the Dodgers' organization - lefty Jesus. I don't think he ever made the bigs, therefore becoming the crappiest brother.

Ken Brett wasn't all that bad. He played for 14 seasons.
Which is the top and which is the lesser brother?
Ryan Minor - Damon Minor
Doug
or Matty?

<< <i>Billy Ripken? >>
I disagree. He didn't suck THAT bad. He was one of the best defensive second basemen I've ever seen (personal opinion). Hitting, sure, he was sub-par, but I wouldn't call him crappy by any means.

And there was Keith Gretzky, whom I think never made it to the NHL. I did see him play for the IHL team in Flint back in the late 80s.

A career .985 fielding percentage over 12 seasons is pretty good. Then again, just to be in the majors for 12 years is pretty good.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Compared to Cal, Billy is crappy.
Eddie Murray had a brother play and he was so crappy I forget his name.
