Cashback and Auctiva question (sorry for creating another cashback thread)

I am trying to buy something on ebay. It is a buy it now auction, and the seller accepts paypal, but through Auctiva's checkout system. When I get to the commit to buy screen, where it should verify that I am eligible for cashback, it tells me that the purchase is not eligible because the seller specifies a third party checkout system.

I'll still be paying through paypal, just through Auctiva's checkout. Is there a way around this so that I can get the cashback? Anyone successfully done this?

I agree. I tried using the cashback on two separate items that used an alternate checkout system and neither one worked. Luckily the items I bought were priced fairly and something I really wanted.

Contact the seller and ask him to remove Auctiva's checkout system for the coin you wish to purchase. Most sellers will gladly do this.

I tried that, the seller is either unwilling or unable to do this. How involved is it to actually do this? Can it be done without relisting the item? What does Auctiva checkout do for the seller that eBay/paypal checkout would not?

Cashback rules/regulations state that not only that paypal HAS to be used on a BIN but that no intermediate step/3rd party can be used (ie...auctiva).
So, if they are unwilling to do it (maybe because of something between them and paypal before) then it won't work on that item/auction.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I'm not sure if anyone else was interested in this issue, but just in case, I figured I would pass this along.

Just for the heck of it, I tried using cashback again on the item, and instead of getting a message on the confirmation screen that the item was not eligible for cashback, I got a message that it was eligible but that I needed to be sure to choose Paypal when using the seller's 3rd party payment service.

I emailed the seller, but haven't heard back to find out if she changed something on her end or if MS Live changed something.

So, I took the plunge, paid through Auctiva using Paypal, and sure enough the $125 is already showing as pending in my cashback account. Now to wait out the 60 days......
