Composition of Confederate cent?

To the best of anybody's knowledge, has any original Confederate cent (as struck by Lovett) ever been scientifically tested to determine the copper:nickel ratio?
Thanks,

I don't know about scientifically, Tom, but the originals certainly look like CN federal issues.

I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

Rick Kay might have the answer to this one.

Otherwise, probably nobody has yet to do this with an original C/N piece, unless one of the TPG's was requested to do so by the ownwer before it was slabbed.
PM me if you are looking for U.S. auction catalogs
