OK, I admit it! At one time I collected real coins.

In a thread on the OFR everyone seemed shocked when Russ brought up the I collected real coins at one time... Yes in another lifetime I collected proof morgan dollars. Ah, back in the 80s and 90s! When overtime was plentyful and sidejobs paid in cash!! I went back to my old "My Heritage" account and pulled up the inventory to share. Since now I have been banished to the land of Modern Crap!

For the last time, the Mad Marty collection of Proof Morgan Dollars.

In 2002 I got laid off from my job, it was 20 months before I had a full time job again. It came to the choice, pay off the house and cars or have a bank box full of coins! I had a fire sale. 2002/2003 was not a good time to be selling coins!

Well at least you put that towards the best investment (paying off the house)

Where's this Open Forum Refuge you speak of? It sounds interesting. Fascinating, even. I bet it's an exciting place for collectors and others to discuss a wide variety of topics that we are no longer allowed to discuss here on the PCGS forum.

Yep, bought it from Barry Stuppler, a very nice 89-CC in 63DMPL. That is the one coin I really regret selling off.

Even though I have secretly been working on a hoard. I now own 2% of the total minted population of a coin. I figure once I have 10% it can officially be called a hoard!

Didn't you post a pic of that coin here? That was a great coin as well as a nice group of Morgan proof dollars.
