as in past tense. the person "toned" them. accurate description.
coin collectors are the ones who dicker over the AT/NT debate.
Practice makes perfect & nobody is perfect. So, practice being nobody and be perfect !
just for grins, but to put them up for sale? That seems a bit too nefarious to me. After all, anyone can
get those type of colors from a coin with enough heat applied. It may not be illegal to sell cooked coins
like this but in my book its unethical if your not disclosing the reality of what they are. Just cooked coins.
I like the "THIS WOULD MAKE A GREAT INVESTMENT ..." bit.

the coin is not damaged.
"Dear cuzzx,
they are new and from the roll the $10 roll that i got had 26 toned coins in it and i thought the samething that you do so i started looking up to see why new coins would come like that and as it turns out when the dies that stamp the coins start to wear out they get hot and that heat changes the color of the metal. thank you for asking and have a nice day

Well "heat changes the color of the metal" is the true part of his statement. Looks like the oven baked presidential dollars I cooked.
<< <i>The joy of chemistry.
A tip jar that belongs to a Bartender in a smokie ackyhol depot will tone em big time.
